Fish, fungi, & flowers

Ocean Magic and Mushroom Power

At The Lost Acre, we believe that healthy flowers start with healthy soil. To give our blooms the very best food, we only use a special liquid fish fertilizer that comes all the way from the cold, clean waters of Maine. It might sound funny to feed fish to flowers, but it’s an ancient secret! This natural "super-smoothie" is packed with minerals from the ocean. We pair that with rich mushroom compost from right here in Monterey, California. This compost is what’s left over after mushrooms grow, and it is like gold for our garden! By using these natural products made right here in the United States, we keep our farm pure and our plants very happy.

Kind to the Earth, Great for the Blooms

Unlike factory-made chemical fertilizers, our fish and mushroom "recipe" is gentle and eco-friendly. This special mix doesn't just feed the flowers; it feeds the tiny, helpful "soil superheroes" like earthworms that live underground, making the earth rich and bouncy. This means our flowers grow stronger stems and much brighter petals without any synthetic chemicals. By using recycled mushroom soil from Monterey and sustainable fish nutrients from Maine, The Lost Acre helps protect the land and the sea while growing 100% natural bouquets.
